To provide a brush device in which the contact of a pigtail with a brush holding portion can be reduced.
Each brush holding portion 7 has a lower wall structured at a part of a base board 6, a first side wall 10 and a second side wall 11 provided protrusively from the base board 6 in the axial direction to constitute a pair, and a cover wall 12 facing the lower wall in the axial direction. Each brush holding portion 7 has a leading-out hole 16 provided astride the first side wall 10 of each brush holding portion 7 and the cover wall 12 and opened at circumferential direction counter-clockwise rotation side (circumferential direction one side) and at axial direction opposite-to-base-board side (axial direction one side). A brush 8 is held movably in the radial direction in each brush holding portion 7, the pigtail 15 connected to the brush 8 is connected to each of connection terminals 22a, 22b at the circumferential direction counter-clockwise rotation side (circumferential direction one side) and at the axial direction opposite-to-base-board side (axial direction one side) than the connection position of itself with the brush 8.
