Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the electrical short circuit between brushes due to adhesion of abrasion powder of brush to the inner circumferential surface over a long term.
CONSTITUTION: A brush holder 1 is provided with a hole 2 for receiving a commutator and groove parts 3, 4, 5 for holding a brush 6 are made in one side face thereof. Grooves 8, 9, 10 are made in the inner circumferential surface of the hole 2 between respective groove parts 3, 4, 5 while extending axially across the hole 2. Each groove 8, 9, 10 has reversely tapered cross-section. The side face in each groove 8, 9, 10 directing downward with respect to the rotational direction of commutator serves as a plane to which abrasion powder of the brush 6 does not adhere.
