Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the size and to simplify an AC exciter by connecting a circular diode in parallel with a rotary rectifier at both ends of a main field coil, thereby effectively utilizing the DC exciting effect. CONSTITUTION:A stator is provided with a load coil Wa and a field coil WEXF of single phase exciter. Half-wave rectifying diode DEXF is connected across the field coil WEXF, and a series circuit of a constant-voltage regulator VR and a DC power source B is connected. On the other hand, a main field coil Wf is provided at the rotor, and a circular diode Df and a rotary rectifier Rec are connected in parallel with both ends of the coils Wf. The field coil WEX of the single phase exciter is connected to the input side of the rectifier Rec. The field coil Wf is excited by the field current induced by the coil WEX when the rotor is rotated. At this time the pulsating exciting current induced at the coil Wf is circulated by the diode Df, but does not flow to the coil WEX of the single phase exciter.
