PURPOSE: To lighten impulsive force due to collision and to improve the safety of an elevator by providing superconductive electromagnets on either a collision surface of a collision preventing buffer mounted on a floor in an elevator column or the buffer provided under an elevator cage.
CONSTITUTION: A supporting body 5 is firmly fixed on a floor surface 1 of a column through which an elevator cage 2 ascends and descends, and a magnetic body 6 having a superconductive coil 7 is provided on the supporting body 5 through a compression spring 4. In addition to that, a magnetic body 8 having a superconductive coil 9 is provided on the lower surface of a floor of a cage 2 and opposite to the magnetic body 6. The coils 7, 9 are turned on so that the magnetic bodies 6, 8 may generate magnetic poles which are repulsive to each other. Even when the cage 2 descends abnormally, impulsive force given to the cage 2 at the time of its reaching to the floor can be thereby lightened, and the safety of the elevator can be also improved.
