Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to prevent bulking from occurring without affecting useful activated sludge adversely.

CONSTITUTION: This bulking preventive agent for activated sludge consists of at least, one kind of 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol and it s lower aliphatic esters, or at least, one king of 2-bromo-2-nitro-propanel-1,3-diol and its lower aliphatic ester and/or a hydrogen peroxide supplying compound and/or a cationic polymer coagulant as effective components.
