Abstract:
PURPOSE: To protect a rear bumper up to the rising curved face parts on both sides, reduce injuries caused by contact and enable integral mounting by folding the outer side edge part of a body to the back side to apply edge treatment to the outer side edge, and extending the tips of flexible tongue bodies to both side directions from the fitted parts to the body.
CONSTITUTION: One outer side edge of a body 1 with ribs 2, 2... formed by embossing is folded by the width of several millimeters to the back side to form an edge treated part 3, and both sides are left as edge parts 4. Flexible tongue bodies 5 are respectively fitted to both sides of the body 1. A slit 6 that can insert the end part of the body 1 is provided on the base end side of the tongue body, and the edge part 4 is insert-fitted therein. The flexible tongue body 5 is shaped to be adaptive to the rising curved face part of each side of a rear bumper and continuous with the body 1 without the sense of incongruity. The nearly whole surface of the rear bumper is thus guarded integrally, so that a decorative effect is also high.
