PURPOSE: To effecively prevent flaws at the contacting part of a steel band and steel materials bundled and reduce the working loads, by bundling steel materials with a material composed of steel bands coated with a resin or a coating film at the whole surface thereof or a part thereof.

CONSTITUTION: Steel bar products are bundled at several points in the longitudinal direction by steel bands and flaws arise on the surface of steel bars in the contact part of the steel bars and the steel bands due to the friction of the contact part during transportation. Accordingly, in some cases, setting plates made of semi-hard resin are attached to the end face of steel materials and the steel materials are bundled together with the setting plates. In this bundling method of steel materials, the steel coils are bundled by a material K coated with a resin or a coating film 3 in stead of steel bands 2. Vinyl chloride, acryl, fluororesin, etc., are can be applied as the coating resin. The flaws of steel coils due to the contact with the material K can be almost removed by use of the material constituted of steel bands 2 coated with the resin 3.
