Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a relatively small buoy, by covering the outer surface of a high-density polyethylene foam material floating member with an outer skin made of rubber, etc. to enhance the external pressure resistance of the buoy and to decrease a loss in buoyancy thereof due to a decrease in its bulk. CONSTITUTION:An outer skin 14 made of rubbers, polyethylene, etc., is coated on a float member 12 made of high-density polyethylene foam materials to form a buoy. A core metal 16 is inserted through the buoy, as necessary, and a sling hardware 18 and a connecting hardware 20 are attached to the top and bottom ends of the core metal 16. Since the bulk change rate of high-density polyethylene form materials is less even if external pressure is applied and therefore, it has a characteristic in excellent in external pressure resistance, a loss in buoyancy may be made to be less as a buoy. Accordingly, if the buoy has the same characteristic as that of the conventional one, the shape of the entire buoy may be made to be small.
