PURPOSE: To detect only the flame of a burner to be detected by differentiating the flame of the burner to be detected from the flames of the other burners accurately and to adjust the detecting level simply and properly, by catching the light image of the burner flame in a furnace by a wide angle lens, and receiving the light image by an image sensor through an image fiber, which is provided on the optical axis of the wide angle lens.
CONSTITUTION: The light image of the flame of a burner, which is caught by a wide angle lens 21 is transmitted through an image fiber 22, which is formed by the bundle of many pieces of optical fibers and formed on a compound-eye image sensor 24 through a lens 23. A signal processing part 25 judges whether the voltage signals at all the points on the image sensor are larger or smaller than a specified level, obtains the average luminance signal, and obtains a luminance pattern data from the luminances of the specified positions of the light image of the flame on the image sensor 24. In a judging part 26, the burning state of the burner flame is judged. A burner flame ON signal or a burner flame OFF signal is outputted from a terminal 27.
