PURPOSE: To stabilize combustion by a method wherein a predetermined gap is kept between a flame spreading plate and a cylindrical member.
CONSTITUTION: When combustion begins, flame is generated in an inner flame cylinder 10 and an outer flame cylinder 11 and the air from the air inlet port of a cylindrical member 2 is mixed with the fuel gas which flows upward so that the white flame 14 extends upward from the upper parts of the inner and outer flame cylinders 10 and 11. In this case, as the flame 14 comes into direct contact with a flame spreading plate 1 and the cylindrical member 2, the temperature of the flame rises high but the flame spreading plate 1 is strengthened by being provided with a bent section at a part at which the flame comes into contact with the plate 1 and it is therefore possible to prevent the deformation of the plate 1 due to a thermal stress. Further, the cylindrical member 2 expands downward due to its thermal expansion and the entire length thereof becomes larger but as it is kept out of contact with the flame spreading plate 1 due to the predetermined gap, it is possible to prevent both the cylindrical member 2 and the flame spreading plate 1 from being deformed due to buckling. Consequently, it is possible to obtain a stabilized combustion flame and a stabilized combustion efficiency.
