PURPOSE: To prevent the operation of a Burton pot type manufacturing apparatus for lead oxide from being made unstable owing to the dropping of stuck lead, by providing a rotating vane for removing lead or lead oxide stuck to the upper inner wall of the pot.
CONSTITUTION: Molten lead and air are fed from the inlet 2 of a pot 1 heated internally to 350W450°C, and lead oxide is taken out of the outlet 4 in the form of powder using air as a carrier gas. At this time, a rotating vane 6 made of mild steel is attached to an upper part of the shaft of an agitator for accelerating the oxidation reaction while leaving several mm space between the vane 6 and the upper inner wall of the pot 1. By rotating the vane 6, lead stuck to the upper inner wall of the pot 1 by splashing by the agitating vane 3 is continuously scraped away to prevent lead stuck to the upper inner wall of the pot from dropping irregularly as lumps and inhibiting the oxidation reaction of lead. Accordingly, the operation of the manufacturing apparatus for lead oxide is prevented from being made unstable.
