To provide a bush and grass cleaning head useful for a bush cutter, with which abrasion of an operation member can be controlled, the number of part items can be reduced, a production and an assembly operations can be readily carried out and the falling and scattering of a protective member can be prevented.
A reel 21 is stored relatively movably in a case 17 intermittently. The operation member 24 for rewinding a cutter cord 23 is connected to the lower end part of a bobbin 22. The bush and grass cleaning head is equipped with a spring 26 for urging an operation member 24 in the direction to project the operation member from the case 17. When the operation member 24 is molded from a resin material, the protective member 27 made of a metal material is subjected to insert molding into the bottom part 24b of the operation member and a spring receiving piece 27c of the protective member 27 is extended to the top of the bottom part 24b to form a seat of the spring 26.
