Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an artificial bone forming an osteogenetic nucleus when inserted into the defective bone part or a dental pulp extraction cavity and capable of quickly forming new bone compared with hydroxyapatite.
CONSTITUTION: One or more hydroxyapatite precursors selected from dicalcium phosphate, octacalcium phosphate and amorphous calcium phosphate are used as the main component of the objective artificial bone. When the bone is embedded in a living body, it is converted to hydroxyapatite to form bone and exhibit the affinity to a non-collagenic protein containing sugar chain and known as a factor for promoting bone formation in the living body.
