PURPOSE: To provide a device in which large-diameter drums and small--diameter drums can be installed as they are mixed without increasing the size of the device by regulating installation of drum support shafts supporting the large- diameter cable drums to be adjacent to each other in a guide direction.
CONSTITUTION: For housing drums into a drum housing device X, a guide plate 5 is rotated to place guide grooves 43, 44 to installation/removal positions in order, and in this condition, drum assemblies 23, 24 for installing a drum installation cylinder 30 as it is contracted are taken into an installation/removal part of a guide rail. After this, the drum installation cylinder 30 is actuated to elongate for pushing a drum support shaft 25 onto the guide rail, and guide rollers provided at both shaft ends of the support shaft 25 are fed into the guide rail to be supported. At this time, when a large-diameter drum installation part 41 and a small-diameter drum installation part 42 get to the installation/removal position, diametrically outward protruding quantity of guide protrusions 46, 48 positioned on the rear side of a car body is set relatively, thereby it comes to that only a small-diameter drum 22 can be installed on the small-diameter drum installation part 42.
