PURPOSE: To perform arranged winding of cable, when a long cable is wound tightly in multiple turns in a storage tank, by obtaining next laying position information based on the position information of already wound cable and controlling a handling mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: When a long cable is contained tightly in multiple stages in a storage tank, winding information such as the diameter (d) of respective cables 1A∼1D, the height (h) from the bottom face of the storage tank, the distance (r) from the center of winding to the inner wall of the storage tank, and the like are fed and stored in a controller CPU 3. The CPU 3 calculates the optimal position information of (n+1)-th stage based on previously stored n-th stage information(where, n is an integer equal to or larger than 1), and the calculated information is employed for operational control of a handling mechanism 2. By such method, arranged winding is executed in the storage tank with high space factor.
