PURPOSE: To obtain the subject product capable of recovering beautiful appearance simply by peeling the outermost layer in fading the outer surface by providing an anticorrosive layer on the periphery of a cable body and further forming plural colored protective covering layers of a specific construction thereon.
CONSTITUTION: A cable with a multilayered protective covering is obtained by providing an anticorrosive layer 2 on the periphery of a cable body 1 and further forming plural colored protective covering layers 3 to 5 having grooves 31, 41 and 51 in the longitudinal direction except respective end faces on the aforementioned anticorrosive layer 2. When the above-mentioned cable is installed and then becomes unfavorable for beautiful appearance, a cutter blade is fed into the groove 51 of the protective covering layer 5 in the outermost layer to peel off the protective covering layer 5. Furthermore, high-density polyethylene containing 2-3% carbon blended therein is preferred as the anticorrosive layer. Polyethylene, nylon, chloroprene rubber, etc., are preferably used as the protective covering layer.
