To correctly indicate the position of elevator cage even when it is outside a door zone by lighting an indication lamp by the cage synchronous position signal when a door zone detection device is not in operation, and lighting the indication lamp by the door zone outside cage position signal when the detection device is in operation.

This cage position indication device comprises a door zone outside detection device P, and an indication control device C to indicate the cage synchronous position signals A1-A3 which are synchronous with the cage position, the door zone outside cage position signals B1-B3 to be indicated when the cage is stopped outside the door zone, and the cage position signal on indication lamps L1-L3. When the door zone outside detection device P is not in operation, the indication lamps L1-L3 are lit by the cage synchronous position signals A1-A3. When the door zone outside detection device P is in operation, the indication lamps L1-L3 are lit by the door zone outside cage position signals B1-B3. The cafe position can be correctly indicated thereby.
