Abstract:
To provide a retainer for a self-aligning roller bearing free from degradation of a service life of a bearing due to skew and fretting of rollers, having high assembling workability of the bearing, and capable of being applied not only to a roller guide system but also to a bearing ring guide system.SOLUTION: A retainer 1A is used in a self-aligning roller bearing having a roller train of two rows. The retainer is composed of a pair of single row retainers 2A, 2B for guiding the roller train of two rows by each row. The single row retainers 2A, 2B have a shape formed by connecting a large-diameter ring portion 3 and a small-diameter ring portion 4 axially separating from each other, by a plurality of pillar portions 5, and the large-diameter ring portion 3 is provided with a flange 6 extending radially outward. A concave-convex engagement portion A composed of a concave portion B and a convex portion C is disposed on a large-diameter side end surface 6A of the flange 6. The retainer is used in a state of engaging the concave-convex engagement portions A of the single row retainers 2A, 2B, and an engagement depth of the concave-convex engagement portions A is determined to be larger than an axial clearance of the bearing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
