Title:
CALCINED POWDER FOR OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR HAVING HIGH CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3630889
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain calcined powder reduced in impurities, composed of homogeneous fine particles and capable of producing oxide superconductor having high critical current density by wet-grinding a baked product using an organic solvent on a pulverization process in the manufacturing of calcined powder of the baked product, and subsequently removing the organic solvent in a closed atmosphere.
SOLUTION: A baked product, prepared by adjusting the amounts of each component in such a manner that the composition becomes substantially same as the objective composition of an oxide superconductor and calcining the resultant mixture, is wet- ground in the presence of an organic solvent, especially a mixed organic solvent obtained by mixing a nonpolar organic solvent and a polar organic solvent, and subsequently the solvent is removed in a closed atmosphere. Concretely, the solvent is removed by vacuum distillation. The examples of the nonpolar organic solvent usable on the process include benzene, n-hexane, cyclohexane, etc., and the examples of the polar solvent include an alcohol such as methanol or ethanol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, etc. This method can be applied on all oxide superconductors such as known Bi-, Y-, T1- and Hg-based oxide superconductors.
