PURPOSE: To obtain a calcium silicate molding having excellent mechanical strength and water resistance in the whole parts into the interior, by immersing a molded article of calcium silicate in a solution of a resin in an organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: In a calcium silicate molding nonimpregnated with a resin, the molding is immersed in a solution of the resin in an organic solvent to give a molding into witch the resin is impregnated in the interior. A hydrophobic resin having a relative low molecular weight of ≤20.000 number-average molecular weight soluble in a organic solvent is preferably used as the resin to be impregnated. When the number-average molecular weight exceeds 20,000, unfavorably the resin is hardly impregnated into the interior of the molded article of calcium silicate. A urethane prepolymer, epoxy resin, polyacrylic resin or vinyl chloride resin may be cited as the resin used.
