To provide a calculating device and a calculating method capable of making the memory write/read logic easy by making the structure of table data to be stored in a memory easy.

The memory stores table data with which the value of a variable (x) is referred to by using the value of a variable (y) and the value of a solution (z). The calculating part inputs x-in and y-in, reads two values y-a and y-b corresponding to the y-in from the memory, reads two values x-aa and x-ab corresponding to the x-in from the memory in a row corresponding to the y-a, reads two values x-ba and x-bb corresponding to the x-in from the memory in a row corresponding to the y-b, and calculates the solution (z) corresponding to the x-in and the y-in with an interpolation by using the x-in, the y-in and the read values the y-a, y-b, x-aa, x-ab, x-ba and x-bb.
