Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calibrating a digital camera to attain color reproduction with fidelity and to provide the digital camera with color correction by the calibration method.
SOLUTION: According to the calibration method for a digital camera of this invention, first a difference in lightness, saturation and hue angle between reference image data and image data by the digital camera is respectively calculated for a plurality of prescribed colors. Then color correction is applied to the image data of the digital camera so that the difference is kept within a prescribed range. Thus, each color component (lightness, saturation and hue angle) of the image data of the digital camera with respect to a prescribed color can be made close to each color component of the reference image data so as to attain color reproduction with fidelity.
