Abstract:
To provide a caliper body of a disc brake for a vehicle capable of reducing a weight while improving connection strength of caliper half bodies.SOLUTION: Joining faces 5d, 6b of a first caliper half body 5 and a second caliper half body 6 disposed at both sides of a disc rotor 2 are abutted by a bridge portion 3a crossing over an outer periphery of the disc rotor 2, and connected by connection bolts 7 inserted to female screw holes 5e and insertion holes 6c respectively formed on the first caliper half body 5 and the second caliper half body 6 in opposition to each other so as to form a caliper body 3. Thinned portions 5f are respectively formed around the female screw holes 5e at an outer side in a disc radial direction with respect to an insertion hole connection line CL1 connecting disc rotor center-side end portions P1 of the female screw holes 5e of the joining faces 5d. Each thinned portion 5f is formed so as to gradually become shallow toward the outer side in the disc radial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
