Title:
CAMBER ANGLE CONTROL DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH042511
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To keep chamber angle of front wheels at a specified value by turning a screw member along with the middle part of a stabilizer at the time when a car body is dived, to slide a slider across the width of the car and to pull right and left lower arms to the middle part of the car body.

CONSTITUTION: When an increase in the weight of a vehicle occurs, the vehicle runs over a projected part, or both right and left front wheels 1 are raised, both right and left ends of a stabilizer 2 are moved to an upper positions relative to the stationary positions to turn a screw member 3 in the middle section of the stabilizer and to move a nut member 4 to the side of a position P1 which is offset from a neutral position P0. As a result, a lever 5 is turned to move a pair of sliders 9 by the required amount (a) to the middle side of the car, and the camber angle of the right and left front wheels 1 is kept at the chamber angle at the time of normal operation. The uncontrollable conditions of a steering wheel due to disturbances are thus reduced, and thereby the safety of travelling can be secured.
