To provide a camera device for an examination which has a downsized camera head enabling a long and stable photography operation and switches speedily and easily illuminations appropriate for various kinds of photography, such as near, far, shadow photography or the like.
The camera device for an examination includes the camera head 11 inserted retractably into the inside of a subject's body, an imaging unit 12 mounted on the front of the camera head 11 in the inserting direction, a plurality of illuminating optical fibers 13 extending from the back of the camera head 11 which are arranged in an annular fashion while directing emission surface parts 13F forward on the outer periphery of the imaging surface of the imaging unit 12, a plurality of incidence surface parts 13A, 13B, 13C and 13D formed by distributing the incidence surfaces in groups so that the emission surface parts 13F of the plurality of optical fibers 13 extending from the camera head 11 are distributed into a plurality of regions, a plurality of light sources 25A, 25B, 25C and 25D corresponding to the plurality of incidence surface parts which independently emit illumination light to the respective incidence surface parts, and a light distribution balance control section 22 which controls the amount of light emitted from each light source and entering each incidence surface part by using each region as a unit.
