To provide a camera module which can obtain an easy-to-see image with a sufficient exposure control to have a correct exposure and a restriction of unnatural brightness change in an image to be taken.
According to one embodiment, a camera module 2 comprises an AE control unit 21 which serves as an exposure control section. The exposure control section switches an exposure control from a first exposure control to a second exposure control when an exposure error is within a coring range at the first exposure control. The exposure error indicates a deviation of an evaluation value from an exposure target value 22. In a second exposure control, an amount of exposure change is reduced than that in the first exposure control. The exposure control unit stops exposure control when the exposure error is at zero level in the second exposure control.
