PURPOSE: To extend quantity and a type of information other than pictorial pictures obtained by a photographic camera user by recording digital information like digital audio information in a second position on a film apart from a first position where a picture is recorded.

CONSTITUTION: A still picture camera has a picture performance in a sense of photographs in conventional techniques, an electronic and photomechanical performance which digitally decodes, stores and writes information on a first stripe 10 by color, and a reception performance which collected information other than pictorial pictures from various source. An area 20 of the photographic film stripe 10 is used to store digital data on the film strip 10 in color sensitive layers 12, 14, and 16 corresponding to a specific information source selected by the user as shown in the section of an area 21. Thus, the control for the space position and the data encoding method of digital information recorded by the user is provided, and it is unnecessary to use a special photographic film.
