To prevent video data from being missed in a recorder and to record video without any omissions by dynamically adjusting an amount of distribution from a camera to a recorder in accordance with a state of the recorder.
In a camera system in which video data photographed with cameras 1a to 1d are distributed to a recorder 30 via a hub 20, when the recorder 30 monitors a state of its own device in a state monitoring part 36 and when a use rate of a CPU 39 or a data accumulation amount of a buffer 33 becomes a prescribed amount or larger or when an event occurs in the camera system, the recorder 30 issues a distribution amount control notification to reduce the distribution rate, and notifies the hub 20 of it. When receiving the distribution amount control notification from the recorder 30 at a communication control unit 22, the hub 20 adjusts the accumulation amount of video data to be accumulated in a buffer 24 in accordance with the distribution amount control notification to lower the distribution rate of video data to the recorder 30.
