PURPOSE: To reinforce the drum sheet with the non press-projecting part and to obtain the open top type can of excellent durability by providing the intermittent bead which is arranged alternately with the press-projecting part and the un-projecting part on the peripheral surface of the drum sheet.

CONSTITUTION: The plate 31 which mount the can body 32 moves to the upper direction and stops at the forming position of the intermittent bead 2, 3 and the top curl 6. Next, when the up and down slides 35, 38 descend together, through the slides 34, 37 of left and right directions, the outside segment 33 for the bead forming having recessing part and the inside segment 36 for bead forming having projecting part move and the intermittent bead which is arranged alternately with the bead press projecting part 4 and the non-projecting part 5 over the one round of the drum peripheral surface is formed, and the non press-projecting part become the supporting column of the drum sheet and act as the role of reinforcing member for the load, so the open top type pale can of excellent durability is obtained.
