PURPOSE: To avoid undesirable effects on the moldability of wax and the color of a flame reaction substance by forming a wick from a porous material comprising the flame reaction substance and a combustion accelerator.

CONSTITUTION: A main burning material 1, if necessary, colored by compounding a pigment or dye is melted, cast into a mold, and solidified to give a molding having a hole for a wick 2. A powder mixture comprising 100 pts.wt. combustion accelerator with 10-50 pts.wt. flame reaction substance is put into the hole and pressed to solidify, forming a wick 2 comprising a porous material and having a thickness of 3-10mm. The wick may be formed from two or more longitudinally arranged parts each contg. two or more kinds of flame reaction substance, respectively.
