The canister 11 is constituted of a cylindrical shell 12 practically containing nuclear fuel inside, and a lower lid 14 and an upper lid 13 closing a lower opening 19 and an upper opening 18 of the cylinder shell 12. At least a part other than the inner surface of the cylinder shell 12 is covered with a corrosion resistive layer 17, and at least other part than the lower end closing surface among the disk shape lower lid 14 consisting of the lower end closing surface, bottom surface and outer surface an closing the lower end opening 19 is covered with a corrosion resistive layer 31. Also, at least a part other than the upper closing surface among the disk shape upper lid 13, consisting of upper closing surface, upper surface and outer surface and closing the upper end opening 18, is covered with the corrosion resistive layer 31.
