To stably operate a motor without causing the problem of the deformation of a can, despite considerably high pressure is applied to the can coating a stator.
A canned motor is composed of a rotor 2: wherein the outer periphery is coated by a can, and a stator 4: which is spacedly arranged in the rotor 2 via a void, and in which the inner periphery for rotatively driving the rotor 2 is coated by the can. In this case, the stator 4 is provided with a slot 20 for housing a regularly arrayed coil opened to the cylindrical inner peripheral surfaces, and the slot 20 is provided with a coil housing chamber 20a: arranged in a deep side, a protruded portion 20d: arranged in the inner peripheral side of the chamber 20a, and a reinforcing member housing chamber 20e: for housing a reinforcing member 21 arranged in the inner peripheral side of the protruded portion.
