Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start an engine even when the terminals of an IGN key switch are shorted, in a capacitor charge-discharge type ignition device for motorcycles, etc.
SOLUTION: In a capacitor charge-discharge type ignition device provided with a DC power source 1 or generator output, an IGN key switch 2 having a switch (x), a DC-DC converter, an ignition capacitor C2, a pulser coil 14, and an IGN coil 3, a series circuit of switch (y) interlocked with a switch (x) provided in the IGN key switch 2 and a resistor R1, and a differentiation circuit 12 for differentiating the output waveform of an oscillation circuit provided on the output side of the switch (x) and the switch (y), are provided. Then, a time width/voltage conversion circuit 14 for converting the differential action time width of the differentiation circuit 12 into voltage, and a comparison- judging circuit 15 for judging whether the output voltage of the time width/ voltage conversion circuit 14 is within a specified range or not, are provided to control the igniting operation by the output of the comparison-judging circuit 15.
