PURPOSE: To obtain a capsule toner having an excellent powder characteristics without flocculation in a developing device or during storage and to obtain a sharp image by sticking or incorporating modified PVA contg. a silicon atom in the molecule onto or into the surface of the shell.

CONSTITUTION: The capsule toner is constituted of the core material contg. a display recording material and the shell formed on the periphery thereof. The modified PVA contg. the silicon atom in the molecule is stuck or incorporated onto or into the surface of said shell. The saponified matter of a copolymer of vinyl ester and vinyl silane such as olefinic unsatd. monomer expressed by the formula (R1 is alkyl of 1W5C, R2 is alkoxyl or acyloxyl of 1W40C, n is 0W4, m is 0W2) and contg. silicon in the molecule is preferable as such modified PVAL and is used at about 0.01W1pt.wt. by the total weight of the capsule toner. Magnetic particles may be further incorporated into the core material to use said material as a magnetic toner. The capsule toner constituted in the above-mentioned way has the excellent powder characteristic such as resistance to flocculation and obviates flocculation during storage. The sharp image is thus obtd.
