PURPOSE: To obtain the optimum control of an evaporator, a heater, and a blower fan by calculating the necessary cooling/heating capabilities based on the difference between a preset temperature and difference between a preset temperature and a detected temperature and whether the former is higher or lower than the latter and controlling based on the preset characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: During the cooling operation, the necessary cooling capability is calculated based on the difference between a preset temperature and a car room temperature. Then, a cooler engine 4 is driven to obtain the preset optimum air flow of a compressor 5, a fan is operated to give the refreshing cool feeling and automatically a motor 12 is switched, or the rotation of the engine 4 is decreased to eliminate noises and the motor 12 is accerelated for automatic control to obtain the optimum capability in response to the cooling load at that time. Further, during the heating operation, a lack of the heating capability is detected based on the difference between a preset temperature and a car room temperature, and the engine drive is automatically switched. When the air flow is increased and the car room becomes warm, the air flow adjustment is switched from the engine drive to the rotation control of the motor before the hot water quantity adjustment of a heater. Accordingly, the refreshing warm feeling is given, thus automatic temperature adjustment can be performed so as to coincide with the preset temperature.
