Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the twisting rigidity of a connected portion between a rear pillar closed section rear opening part and a rear end cross closed section, which constitute a car body.
SOLUTION: A rear pillar reinforcement is joined over an outer peripheral side flange inside a rear pillar inner 6 to increase the area of a rear pillar closed section 8, this closed section area is maintained by a side lower reinforcement 9 for continuous connection to a rear end cross closed section 4, and the extended portion 10 of the side lower reinforcement 9 is joined to a rear end panel 2 and a rear end cross member 3 to provide the complete connecting structure of the rear pillar constituting members. Thus, twisting rigidity in a connected part between the rear pillar closed section 8 and the rear end cross closed section 4 is increased.
