PURPOSE: To provide a suspension device for a car which gives an enhanced maneuverability and amenity in car cabin by suppressing the vertical movement of the momentary center of a wheel in charge of steering when viewed on the car body side elevation while the car is in cornering.
CONSTITUTION: A suspension mechanism 1 is composed of an upper trailing link 6, upper lateral link 7, and a pair of lower lateral links 8, 9, wherein the momentary center Pc of front wheel 2 when viewed on the car body side elevation is determined as the intersection of the axis of the link 6 with the line tying the body side coupling points of the lower lateral links 8, 9. An adjusting means 5 to adjust the position of the body side coupling point A of the link 6 in accordance with the degree of cornering of the car is provided in order to suppress the sink of the momentary center Pc at the time of cornering bump and composed of a bell crank 10, actuator 11, and controller 12 to maintain the over-the-ground height of the momentary center Pc approx. constantly by sinking the coupling point A for the cornering outer wheel, when the car is in cornering, and heightening the coupling point A for tone cornering inner wheel.
