Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formulaI(R1 is 1-hydroxyl-1-methylethyl, 1- (protected hydroxyl)-1-methylethyl; R2 is carboxyl or protected carboxyl) or its salt.
EXAMPLE: (5R,6R)-3-( 2-Aminoethylthio )-6-( 1-hydroxyl-1-methylethyl )-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3,2,0]-hept-2-ene-carboxylic acid potassium salt.
USE: A synthetic intermediate of carbapenam antibiotics.
PREPARATION: The reaction between a compound of formula II and malonic acid or its derivative is followed by the reaction with an acid azide such as benzenesulfonyl azide and cyclization reaction by means of a reagent such as lead acetate or a metal sulfate to give the compound of formulaI.
