Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a η5 type cyclopentadienyl ligand comprising a specific cyclopentadienide ion and useful as a catalyst for ethylene polymerization, a catalyst for various organic chemical reactions such as conjugated addition reaction of an active methylene compound.
SOLUTION: This η5 type cyclopentadienyl ligand comprises a cyclopentadienide ion of formula I [Ph is a (substituted)phenyl]. This carbon cluster derivative of formula II is obtained by reacting fullerene C60 with an organic copper reagent prepared from a (substituted)phenyl Grignard reagent and CuBr.Sme2.
