Abstract:
To provide a carbon dioxide electrolysis method by which utilization efficiency of CO2 can be enhanced.SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide electrolysis method according an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step in which a carbon compound is produced by reducing a gas including carbon dioxide, or carbon dioxide, at a cathode of an electrochemical reaction cell 5, oxygen is produced by oxidizing water in a second electrolyte at an anode of the electrochemical reaction cell 5, and emissions including the oxygen and the carbon dioxide are discharged from a second container 3; and a step in which the oxygen in the emissions including oxygen and carbon dioxide discharged from the second container 3 are converted to carbon dioxide by combustion or oxidation, and the carbon dioxide in the emissions and the carbon dioxide produced by the combustion or oxidation of the oxygen are resent to a first container 2 of the electrochemical reaction cell 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
