Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber precursor acrylic fiber bundle capable of obtaining a carbon fiber bundle excellent in operation stability and mechanical properties while excellently maintaining prevention of fusion between single fibers even when a carbon fiber bundle having many single fibers is manufactured.SOLUTION: The carbon fiber precursor acrylic fiber bundle satisfies following [a]-[d]. [a] An oil component adheres by 0.05-3 mass% to a dry fiber weight. [b] A difference between oscillation periods of a rigid body pendulum in the oil component at 30°C and 180°C measured by a free damping oscillation method using the pendulum is 0.03 or less seconds. [c] The amount of Si remaining in the fiber bundle after Soxhlet extraction by methyl ethyl ketone is 500 ppm or less. [d] A cross sectional shape of a single fiber is noncircular and has a rotational symmetry angle θ (a unit: degree) represented by θ=360°/n (n=1 or 2).
