Abstract:

Composite material contains carbon reinforced with carbon fibres and a matrix of SiC and silicon. The graphite short fibres of 0.1-5 mm length are homogeneously distributed over the composite material. The matrix contains up to 20 wt. % elementary silicon. The breaking tension of the composite material is 0.25-0.5 % and has an open pure volume of maximum 5 %. Production of the material is also claimed.
