Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new carbon nanotube characterized in that the carbon nanotube is susceptible to the addition of a functional group to the surface thereof due to the amorphous structure of the outer region of the wall portions thereof and exhibits high electric conductivity and high strength due to the crystalline structure of the inner region of the wall portion thereof.
SOLUTION: The carbon nanotube has ≤500 nm outer diameter and ≥50 nm length and has the wall portion composed of carbon and is characterized in that the outer region of the wall portion has an amorphous structure and the inner region of the wall portion has a crystalline structure.
