Abstract:
To provide a carbonitrided steel component which enhances a residual stress improvement effect and has higher intensity.SOLUTION: A carbonitrided steel component contains 0.15 to 0.25% C, 0.20 to 2.00% Si, 0.30 to 2.00% Mn, 0.030% or less P, 0.030% or less S, 0.10 to 1.50% Cr, 0 to 0.60% Mo (including 0%), 0.010 to 0.100% Al, and 0.0050 to 0.0300% N. The component has a carbonitrided layer thereon, contains 0.5 to 1.4% Cs, 0.1 to 0.9% Ns and 0.6 to 1.6% of Cs+Ns, satisfies a relationship of (3×[Si]+2×[Mn])×Ns≥0.4, has a compressive residual stress of the surface of 1,000 MPa or more, a maximum compressive residual stress of 1,400 MPa or more, has no grain boundary oxidation layer of the surface, has the number of precipitates with circle-equivalent diameters of 0.02 to 2.00 μm in the carbonitrided layer within a predetermined range from the surface of 100,000 pieces/mm2 or more, and has a maximum precipitate in a predetermined range from the surface of with circle-equivalent diameters of 5.0 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
