Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer having carbosilaneborazine skeleton and excellent in heat resistance by effecting the hydrosilylation polymerization of a B,B',B"- trialkynylborazine and a bis(hydrosilane) in the presence of a platinum-containing catalyst.
SOLUTION: The carbosilaneborazine-based polymer having repeating units of formula III or IV is obtained by effecting the hydrosilylation polymerization of a B,B',B"-trialkynylborazine of formula II and a bis(hydrosilane) of formula II in a molar ratio of 0.1-10 at temperatures of -20 to 200°C in the presence of a platinum-containing catalyst. In the formulae, R1 is an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl or H; R2 is an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl or H; R3 and R4 are each a monovalent group selected from among an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl and H; R5 is an optionally substituted divalent aromatic group or O; (m) is a positive integer; and (n) is 0 or a positive integer. The obtained polymer is useful as a burning-resistant material or a heat-resistant material.
