NEW MATERIAL:A carboxylic acid ester of formula I (R1 is H, ethynyl or cyano; R2 is H, methyl, Br, Cl or F; R3 is H or F; X and Y are H, Cl, Br, F, or methyl; Z is H, Cl or methyl).
USE: A rapid- and long-acting insecticidal and miticidal agent having no residual properties in environment and low toxicity to man and cattle. It has remarkable effect even to vermins resistant to organic phosphorus agent or carbamate chemicals. Useful for the control of a wide variety of vermins e.g. house vermins such as fly, mosquito, cockroach, etc., vermins of stored grain such as Acaridiae, Plodia interpunctella, etc., agricultural, horticultural and forestry vermins such as leafhopper, aphids, etc., and parasitic vermins such as louce.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by reacting a carboxylic acid of formula II or its reactive derivative with an alcohol of formula III (A is hydroxyl group, halogen, etc.; provided that when R1 is ethynyl, A is hydroxy group) or its reactive derivative.
