PURPOSE: A carcinostatic action enhancer of tegafur consisting of extracted essence of KAMISHOYOSAN (weight ratio: 2W4 Japanese angelica root, 2W4 Paeoniae radix, 2W4 Atractylodis Phizoma, 2W4 hoelen, Bupleurum root, 1W3 Moutan radicis cortex, 1W3 Gardeniae fructus, 0.5W3 Licorice, 0.5W3 Zingiberis rhizoma and 1W2 Menthae herba) or OTSUJIYU (weight ratio: 3W7 Japanese angelica root, 3W7 Bupleurum root, 2W4 Scutellaria, 1W4 Licorice, 1W3 Black cohosk root and 0.5W3 Phei rhizoma).
CONSTITUTION: KAMISHOYOSAN OR OTSUJIYU is incorporated with 5W25 times, preferably 8W20 times as much as a solvent (water, water-soluble organic solvent such as ethanol, etc.,) by weight, heated at preferably 60W100°C, extracted, concentrated and dried to give a carcinostatic action enhancer. The agent is orally administered simultaneously with regafur or within 30min before or after administration. Preferably a dose of the enhancer is 0.3W5 times as much as that of tegafur by weight, 0.3W6g/person/day and administered dividedly 1W3 times dialy.
