Abstract:
To provide a card front and back determination system that can be used for a card currently prevailing and having a surface at which an image and character information are displayed, and is suitable for a card.SOLUTION: A card front and back determination system includes: a card body (S') including a recording medium RF on which card intrinsic information of a card TC can be written to and read out, a card sleeve S capable of storing the card and the recording medium, and a sheet-like electromagnetic shield material SS interposed between a back side of the card and the recording medium inside the card sleeve S and disabling reading of the recording medium RF from a front side of the card; information reading means 51 installed on a lower side of a placing surface 50 s on which the card body is placed and capable of reading the card intrinsic information written in the recording medium of the card body which is placed on the placing surface; and card body detection means 51d installed on a lower side of the placing surface to detect whether the card body is present. When detecting a card body and reading the card intrinsic information, the card front and back determination system determines that the card body is placed front side up, and when not reading the card intrinsic information, determines that the card body is placed back side up.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
