Abstract:
To provide a card reader upgradable to a state where the IC card can be handled as necessary.SOLUTION: A card reader 1 includes a card reader main body 2 having a card transfer path 7, and a magnetic sensor unit 3 for detecting a contact terminal 102 of an IC chip on an IC card 100. The card reader main body 2 is provided with a mounting part 20 in which the magnetic sensor unit 3 is detachably mounted. The mounting part 20 is provided with a locked part 33. The magnetic sensor unit 3 is provided with a magnetic sensor 21 and a sensor holder 42. The magnetic sensor 21 is provided with a sensor surface 22 facing the card transfer path 7 and an opposite surface 23 facing away from the sensor surface 22. The sensor holder 42 is provided with a locking part 64 to be locked to the locked part 33 and a fixing part 43 to which the magnetic sensor 21 is fixed. The magnetic sensor 21 is fixed to a fixing part 43 by an adhesive 88 which covers the opposite surface 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
