PURPOSE: To simplify the production of card-type lock by a method in which an uneven part, a tiered part, and a sloped part are formed on a card key, an uneven part to match the uneven part of the key is formed on a card-type lock having a coupling piece, a latch mechanism, and a card receiver, and when a card is inserted to the innermost position, the latch mechanism is worked to allow unlocking.

CONSTITUTION: An uneven part 2a is formed on the insertion direction tip side of a car key 2, and a tiered part and a sloped part 2b are formed on the adjacent side. A card-type lock is operated by the key 2 and the lock base frame 1 is coupled to a coupler 4 by a coupling piece 5. A card receiver 11 having an uneven part 11a to match the part 2a of the key 2 with latch mechanisms 7-9 is also provided. The lever 8 of the latch mechanisms is pressed by the tiered part and sloped part 2b of the key 2 inserted from the inlet 1a to match the key 2 with the uneven parts 2a and 11a of the receiver 11, and the key 2 is inserted to the innermost position for unlocking by operation of the latch mechanisms. The variation of kinds of card key can thus be greatly increased by combination.
